Secretary-general of the Arab League, Nabil El-Arabi, met with the Turkish ambassador to Egypt Al-Hussein Avni Botsali on Monday. Botsali expressed the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's gratitude regarding El-Arabi's stance on the UN's Palmer report on the Israeli attack on the Turkish flotilla bound for Gaza in 2010. In a press conference on Sunday, El-Arabi had called on Arab states to take a stand similar to Turkey's against the Palmer report and to join it in asking the UN General Assembly for legal action, and consulting with the International Court of Justice regarding the flotilla attack and the Gaza blockade. An Arab League statement said that El-Arabi welcomed Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Egypt the coming week. Also discussed was the upcoming Arab-Turkish Cooperation Forum that is to be held this November and December in Turkey and Morocco.
