A Cairo court rejected on Thursday the general prosecution's appeal against the release of Mahmoud Mohamed Hussein, an Egyptian teenager who was ordered to be released on bail on Tuesday after spending over two years in detention following his arrest for wearing an anti-torture t-shirt. Mokhtar Mounir, Hussein's lawyer, announced on his Facebook account on Thursday afternoon that a Cairo criminal court upheld the decision to release Mahmoud Mohamed and another detainee, Islam Talaat, on bail for EGP LE 1000 each. Since Egyptian law limits pre-trial detention to two years, Mahmoud has qualified for an unconditional release since January of this year. More to follow. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/195781.aspx
