Murder trial of former Egyptian minister of interior resumes
Serving time for other offences, Mubarak's former interior minister appears again in court on murder charges

The murder trial of Hosni Mubarak's former minister of interior, Habib El-Adly, has resumed in the makeshift court at the Police Academy in Heliopolis, Cairo.
Egyptian prosecutors have accused El-Adly and six of his top assistants of killing and injuring hundreds of protesters during the January 25 Revolution against the Mubarak dictatorship.
Presiding Judge Ahmed Refaat deposited evidence, including official records of the Central Security Forces, which played a key role in suppressing public demonstrations in the period 25 January to 28 January.
El-Adly appeared in court wearing the blue prison uniform of convicted criminals. He has already been sentenced to 17 years in jail in two unrelated cases on charges of money laundering and squandering public funds.
Meanwhile, and for the second day in a row, tens of lawyers for plaintiffs and the defence have been unable to enter the court, seemingly due to logistical confusions.
