In a funny Twitter exchange, Bayern Munich told Zamalek to bear in mind their "red colour curse" after the Egyptian side reminded them of their victories over the Bavarian giants decades ago. Zamalek mentioned Bayern Munich's official Arabic account in a post that recalled their 3-2 and 2-1 friendly wins over the Germans in 1977 and 1984 respectively, drawing a swift response from the Bundesliga champions. "Maybe you defeated us more than 30 years ago, but the red colour curse has been haunting you since then," Bayern said in an Arabic tweet in an explicit reference to Zamalek's arch-rivals Ahly, whom the White Knights have beaten only once in the last eight years. Zamalek also responded by referring to Real Madrid's 4-0 drubbing of then title holders Bayern Munich in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final in 2014. "True, 35 years have passed but the white colour still represents a jinx for you," the Egyptian champions tweeted, posting a picture of Sergio Ramos celebrating one of Real's goals against Bayern.
