Striker Etebo Oghenekaro scored twice as Nigeria defeated Algeria 2-1 in Senegal's Dakar to win the U-23 African Cup of Nations on Saturday. The 20-year-old, who plays for local team Warri Wolves, converted a penalty to put the Super Eagles ahead on 14 minutes. Nigeria defender Segun Oduduwa handed Algeria the equalizer on the half hour after heading into his own net but Oghenekaro netted what proved to be the winner five minutes before the break. Algeria squandered the chance to restore parity when Zinedine Ferhat wasted a penalty in the 68th minute. Nigeria and Algeria had already booked their place in next year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. South Africa won the third and last ticket to the Olympics when they defeated hosts Senegal on penalties in the third-place playoff earlier in the day.
