Abou-Treika is not for sale, says Ahly football director
Published in Ahram Online on 25 - 07 - 2011

Ahly will reject Ittihad Jeddah if they ask for star Mohamed Abou-Trieka, while they may green-light Afroto loan to Kuwaiti Al Qadisiyah. A fine is waiting Algerian Sayoud, Brazilian Junior will signs Tuesday
Ahly coaching staff are keen to keep their veteran players, like playmaker, Mohamed Abou-Treika, defender Wael Gomaa and midfielder, Mohamed Barakat.
“Those experienced players balance out the younger generation on the field,” the Red Devils football director, Sayed Abdel-Hafiz confirmed.
Saudi press claimed that the Pharaohs star, Treika, wants to leave Ahly during the transfer window, as he is receiving many offers, but he prefers Ittihad Jeddah.
“I am delighted to receive an offer from a big club like Ittihad Jeddah that has many good players,” Treika was quoted as saying Monday in the Saudi newspaper, Al Eqtisadiah. Treika added: “I know that the board will approve my exit as circumstances changed at the club.”
On the contrary, Abdel-Hafiz revealed that they haven't received any offers from the Saudi club yet and that they are to ignore it.
“If we receive an offer from Ittihad Jeddah, we, the coaching staff, will announce that we need Treika,” Abdel-Hafiz added.
The gifted 32-year-old was chased by UAE side last season, but he eventually preferred to stay in Egypt and extend his contract with the Cairo giants.
Kuwaiti Al Qadisiyah wants Afroto
Ahly have received an offer from Kuwait side, Al Qadisiyah to land the 22-year-old attacker Mustafa “Afroto” Selim on one-year-loan deal at LE 600 thousand ($101,000).
“We will meet with Afroto to extend his stay at Ahly before we discuss the Kuwaiti offer,” Abdel-Hafiz revealed.
The talented forward received many offers recently from big clubs, including Egyptian sides, Ittihad of Alexandria and Masry of Port Said.
A fine is waiting Sayoud, Junior to sign Tuesday
Algerian striker, Amir Sayoud, will be fined by Ahly because he returned late to the training camp for Saturday's African Champions League clash against Tunisian side Esperance.
Ahly came to an agreement with the agent of Brazilian attacker, Fabio Junior, who is due to arrive Tuesday to sign his contracts with the champions of the first Egyptian Premier League post-revolution.
“Junior will attend Wednesday's trainings, but he will not fly to Tunisia as he is not continentally registered yet,” Abdel-Hafiz said.
The teams president, Hassan Hamdy, will lead Ahly's delegation to Tunisia himself when they fly Thursday. The reds are second in Group B of the CAF champions league after Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco and ahead of Tunisian Esperance and Algeria's MC Alger by one goal difference. The four Arab teams are level in points with one each after draws in the first round.
