Egypt's 8th Panorama of the European Film will present 60 European films in several sections This year there is a diverse selection of films that includes 37 feature films, 12 documentaries and 16 shorts
Launched in 2004 by co-manager of Misr International Films (MIF), Marianne Khoury, the Panorama of the European Film brings a selection of the latest critically acclaimed and award-winning international films to Egypt's screening venues between 25 November and 5 December. Previously held in two or three cinema venues around Cairo, this year the Panorama reaches out to an even wider audience in three other cities, by expanding to Alexandria's Amir Cinema, and further yet to Tanta's Rivoli Cinema as well as to Minya's CityScape Cinema. In Cairo, the two main screening venues will be at Zawya Cinema and Karim Cinema, while Plaza Cinema in Sheikh Zayed, and Point 90 in New Cairo, will be hosting special screenings. In addition, three cultural institutions are to hold free screenings- the Italian Culture Institute, the Goethe Institute, and the French Institute.
