Italy's Macron to supply kit for Egyptian champions Zamalek
Published in Ahram Online on 11 - 11 - 2015

Italian company Macron will replace global sportswear giant Adidas as the kit supplier for Zamalek, the Egyptian Premier League champions announced on Wednesday.
"Zamalek SC signs a deal with Italian company Macron to be the brand of the sporting squads of the club, so as to be worn by Zamalek SC after the league resumes," the club said in a brief statement.
"Specialized stores will be established to sell the products soon in coordination with the company," the club added but did not disclose any financial details.
Adidas has been supplying Zamalek's famous white shirt since 2008 but Egyptian reports suggested the German company was angry that some unoriginal kits were being sold by unlicensed merchandisers.
Unlike arch-rivals Ahly, Zamalek do not have official stores.
Macron also supplies kits to Italy's Lazio, Portugal's Sporting and English side Aston Villa among many others.
The club should wear the new kits when the Premier League resumes next month. The competition's break is due to Egypt's commitments in the World Cup qualifiers, which they begin away to Chad on 14 November.
