Egypt U-20 team coach Diaa El-Sayed decided to offload Ahly and Zamalek's players from his European preparatory camp andthe FIFA U-20 World Cup after the two sides refused to allow their young players to join the national team trip. “I am depressed because of the Ahly and Zamalek attitude towards the national duty” El-Sayed was quoted as saying on Egypt's Football Association (EFA) official website. “Ahly and Zamalek refused to allow their players to join the Portuguese camp without declaring reasons” he added. The young Pharaohs crew will travel on Monday to play two friendlies against Portugal on 5 and 7 July, three days before flying to Costa Rica for friendlies against the national team there on 10 and 13 July. “Despite the current critical situation I will do my best to reach advanced placement in the tournament” the Pharaohs tactician said. El-Sayed called upon ENNPI duo Islam Ashraf and Ahmed Younis to join his crew in the European U-20's camp, replacing Ahly's Rami Rabia, Ahmed “Manga,” Ahmed Tawfik, Ayman Ashraf and Omar Gaber from Zamalek, who hadn't shown up to join the U-20 squad. Furthermore, the EFA executive director demanded the competition committee suspend the Ahly and Zamalek five players who didn't show up for the Portuguese U-20 friendlies.
