Cairo derby will be held today says interior ministry
The Egyptian interior ministry has reversed its decision to postpone Wednesday's Cairo derby between Ahly and Zamalek

The interior ministry announced that the Cairo Derby will be held Wednesday as planned by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).
“A security source confirms that Cairo Derby will be held as scheduled,” Egyptian Television announced.
“We demand all security forces to support us insure the game goes as scheduled,” Interior ministry stated.
The EFA decided early Wednesday to delay indefinitely the possible league decider due to security concerns after clashes began Tuesday night between the police and protesters who were throwing stones at the interior ministry in Tahrir. The ministry responded with tear gas and rubber bullets.
The decision to postpone the match raised concerns on the Zamalek side about "equal opportunity," while Ahly announced that the EFA must put the Red Devil's continental competition engagement into consideration as they are participating in the African Champions League.
Competing for their first title since 2004, Zamalek are second in the Egyptian Premier League table with 50 points, five behind arch-rivals Ahly who are bidding for their seventh successive trophy.
