Eid Al-Adha prayers to take place in Cairo at 6:09am on Thursday

The Eid Al-Adha prayer will take place at 6:09am on Thursday in Greater Cairo, Dar Al-Iftaa, an official religious body, announced on Tuesday.
The date of the four-day festival, when Muslims commemorate the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ismail, varies from year to year, because the Islamic calendar is based on the lunar cycle.
Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail has announced that the Eid holiday this year for civil servants will last for five days, from Wednesday to Sunday.
Cabinet spokesman Hossam El-Kawish announced on Sunday that Ismail's decision also includes a four-day holiday for workers in the public sector and in the financial sector, from Wednesday until Saturday.
Observant Muslims mark the beginning of the festival by attending the Eid prayer at a mosque or open public spaces.
