Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor revealed on Thursday that he could join English side Tottenham despite recent abusive chants of the Spurs' fans. The 27 year-old player - who joined Spanish giants Real Madrid in January on a six month loan deal - hit a brace against Tottenham in their 4-0 UEFA champions League quarter final victory in Spain. The African player of the year 2008 claimed he suffered racist chants. ‘' I heard about the chants and I felt so bad because before joining Real Madrid, my first choice was Tottenham,” Adebayor told Skysports. "When I heard the songs I didn't take it seriously. I didn't take it in a bad way at all but it was bad because people today have to realise that we are footballers. Today we play for this club and the next day we might end up playing for them. He added. "I would go there and sign for them. Maybe those fans were furious because I was scoring against them. Maybe they were thinking like that because Adebayor was taking them out of the Champions League and ending their dream of getting to the final." Adebayor concluded. Adebayor has revealed on Sunday the he hopes to stay with Real Madrid and it will be so difficult for him to play again with Manchester City under the guidance of Roberto Mancini.
