Zamalek seek win over Gouna to keep title hopes alive The return of strikers Amr Zaki and Algerian Mohamed Aoudia will boost Zamalek's front line when they take on Gouna on Tuesday
Zamalek seek their first win after two successive draws with ENPPI and Ismaily, when they take on their hosts Gouna in week 20 of the Egyptian Premier League in Hurghada. The Cairo giants are on top of the domestic league table with 40 points and they hope to extend the gap with their arch-rivals Ahly who are in second place with 36 points, by defeating Gouna who are struggling in 12th place with only 19 points. The Whites' frontline received a major boost as both injured strikers Amr Zaki and Algerian Mohamed Aoudia will be available for the game, having totally recovered. Coach Hossam Hassan has urged his players to do their best to win the game, as the club is in a must-win situation in all their coming matches to keep their hopes of clinching the league title alive, but the match time was his only worry. “Playing in a lit stadium was a must as holding the game at 4pm in this hot weather will affect our players negatively,” Hassan was quoted as saying by Egyptian media recently. “The league title is our target this season so we will only focus on winning the three points and neglect all other issues,” he added. On the other side, Gouna players are hopeful of returning to the right track after being defeated in their last two matches against Ismaily and Ahly. The coach of the Hurghada-based team, Anwar Salama, will regain the services of his striker Ahmed Hassan Drogba, who missed the team's last match with Ahly due to suspension. Also on Tuesday, Smouha will host Ismaily, Masr lel Maqassa will take on Petrojet and Arab Contractors will play ENPPI.
