Manchester United and Chelsea bosses respond to their 1-1 draw Manchester United and Chelsea managers are both satisfied with their 1-1 draw in the English Premier League on Sunday
After their 1-1 draw in the English Premier League on Sunday, Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal and Chelsea managers Jose Mourinho commented on the match. Ivorian striker Drogba Didier Drogba opened the scoring in the 53rdminute to give Chelsea the lead but Robin Van Persie scored a dramatic stoppage time equaliser to earn United a deserved 1-1 draw at home. The draw extended Chelsea's lead to four points over second-placed Southampton and six over champions Manchester City, while Manchester United in the 8th place with 13 points. Van Gaal happy with team spirit "I said to the players after the game that we could have won, but that counts for nothing in sport," Louis van Gaal told Manchester United Television. "We created a lot of chances, but we have to finish them. Chelsea took one at the start of the second half, and we were out of the game for 10 minutes. I'm very happy that we responded after that point. "I'm happy with the spirit of the team, that's the only benefit, because I feel that we could have won the game." Mourinho happy with performance "We played very well against a good Man United, I am so happy with my players," Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was quoted as saying on the club's official website after the game. "We got the same result as last season here but if I compare what we did last season here and what we did this season it clearly shows the evolution of this team. We are not happy with the point. "To come here and play the way we did, and not to be happy with the point - because we are not - clearly shows how good we were and how well we are playing in this moment."
