El-Badry set to coach Sudanese giants Al-Merreikh After two weeks rest, Ahly former coach Hossam El-Badry traveled to Sudan to hold talks with Gamal Al-Waly, Al-Merreikh president, ahead of taking charge of the team.
Hossam El-Badry is set to succeed to German tactician Michel Kroger who stepped down as coach of Sudan's Al-Merreikh after losing to reigning champions Al-Hilal, according to Al-Ahram Arabic Portal. The deal is set to be officially unveiled within the next 24 hours. El-Badry will start preparing the team immediately for a new campaign. The former Ahly defender had a 17-month spell at the Cairo giants and led them to the League and Super Cup titles before quitting after being jeered by fans following a 3-1 defeat against Ismaily on Day 11 of the Egyptian Premier League.
