Smouha's midfielder, Tarek Hamed, signed a five-year contract with Zamalek, the Cairo giants announced on their official page on Facebook on Monday. The 29-year-old Hamed is one of the best defensive midfielders in Egyptian football, helping Smouha finish second in the Egyptian league and reach the Egypt Cup final last season. Hamed has been targeted by Ahly who made an official bid for him on Sunday but Zamalek won the race ahead of their archrival. The former Smouha midfielder is Zamalek's 17th new-signing during the summer transfer window as the club are looking to rebuild their squad after a disappointing season. Winners of the Egypt Cup, Zamalek finished at third place in the Egyptian League and were eliminated at the Champions League's quarter stages.
