Smouha coach rues missed chances against Ahly Smouha coach reveals the secret behind his team's success over Ahly, says Zamalek tie in Egypt Cup final will be difficult
Smouha coach Hamada Sedky has rued his side's missed chances in Tuesday's win over Ahly, insisting that Zamalek will not be an easy opponent in the Egypt Cup final. The Alexandria-based club edged closer to winning their first ever trophy after outplaying Ahly to secure a deserved 2-1 win in Cairo and reach the final of Egypt's oldest football competition. “We were able to score goals but we had many missed chances,” Sedky said after the match. “After our loss against Ahly in the league decider, I decided to depend on new tactics and that was the main reason behind our success today,” he added. In Saturday's final, Smouha will take on Ahly's arch-rivals and title holders Zamalek after the White Knights defeated Wadi Degla on penalties in the other semi-final on Monday. “We have the same chances with Zamalek as both teams eye the title and so it will be a difficult match,” Sedky concluded.
