Egyptian duo Mohsen, Hassan complete move to Portugal's Gil Vicente The Portuguese league now includes eight Egyptian players after Marwan Mohsen and Hossam Hassan joined Gil Vicente
Marwan Mohsen and Hossam Hassan became the latest Egyptians to move to Portugal after signing for Gil Vicente, the club said. Striker Mohsen ended an eight-year stint at Egypt's Petrojet while versatile midfielder Hassan, whose only spell abroad was at Turkish side Rizespor in 2012, left Port Said club Masry. "Mohsen will spearhead and boost our attack. Mohsen and Hassan both joined the club on three-year deals," Gil Vicente, who finished 13th in Portugal's Primeira Liga last season, said on their official website. Egypt frontman Mohsen earned seven international caps, scoring three goals. Hassan made two appearances with the Pharaohs. The duo's arrival at Vicente marks the latest Egyptian acquisitions for Portuguese clubs, who are exploring a relatively new market. There are now a total of eight Egyptian players in Portugal: Shikabala (Sporting), Ahmed Koka (Rio Ave), Saleh Gomaa, Aly Ghazal, Aly Fathi, Mahmoud Ezzat (Nacional) and Mohsen and Hassan (Gil Vicente).
