President El-Sisi said Tuesday in a speech delivered during the commencement ceremony at the Military Academy that he would donate half of his monthly salary and half of his wealth in support of the Egyptian economy. The announcement was tied to an initiative titled "Tahya Masr," which translates "Long live Egypt," aiming to address Egypt's deteriorated economy. El-Sisi said he will give up half of his monthly LE42,000 salary to assist Egypt through its economic challenges. Kaweesh added that the Cabinet's meeting late Wednesday was the first since the appointment of the new government.
