BREAKING: Former MOI El-Adly acquitted of profiteering and money laundering
The former minister of interior El-Adly is acquitted of money laundering and profiteering yet still remains in prison for serving another sentence.

A Giza court has acquitted Mubarak's minister of interior Habib El-Adly of profiteering and money laundering charges in his retrial Thursday afternoon.
El-Adly, Mubarak's era longest serving minister of interior, was convicted of money laundering and profiteering, for which he received a 12-year jail sentence in May 2011.
In May 2014, the Court of Cassation overturned the conviction and ordered a retrial.
El-Adly remains in prison, where he is currently serving another five-year sentence for squandering public funds in the notorious 'license plates' case, in which a German company was awarded a government contract to provide license plates for vehicles at inflated prices.
The former minister, along with ousted president Hosni Mubarak and a number of former police generals, is also undergoing a retrial for killing protesters during the January 2011 uprising. Death sentences given in this case in 2012 were overturned by an appeal court.
