Cairo court orders Pharmacists' Syndicate placed under judicial supervision
The Cairo Court for Urgent Matters places the Pharmacists' Syndicate under judicial supervision on the basis of "being controlled by members of the Muslim Brotherhood"
Published in Ahram Online on 31 - 05 - 2014

The Cairo Court for Urgent Matters ordered Saturday the Pharmacists' Syndicate be placed under judicial supervision.
A case had been filed by syndicate member Safaa Abdel-Azim Mohamed and the syndicate's lawyer, Seoudi Ibrahim, demanding that the judiciary intervene on charges that the Muslim Brotherhood controls the syndicate.
The case also demanded that a temporary committee be formed to manage the syndicate until new elections take place.
In March, the board of the Teachers' Syndicate was dissolved and the syndicate placed under judicial supervision on the pretext that the Muslim Brotherhood dominated the board and included members facing trial for inciting violence.
Since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, thousands of Brotherhood members have been arrested on various charges, including incitement to murder and violence.
The Islamist group was designated a terrorist organisation last December.
Prior to the January 2011 revolution, a court verdict ended the system of judicial supervision under which the Engineering Syndicate's elections were suspended for 15 years.
The supervision order was only revoked after the ouster of president Hosni Mubarak.
