Egypt fights malaria outbreak in Aswan: Official
11 residents of same village in Edfu, east Aswan, have all been diagnosed with malaria, sparking efforts from the health ministry to contain disease

Egypt's health ministry announced on Friday that a total of 11 citizens have tested positive for malaria in Upper Egypt's Aswan, reported Al-Ahram's Arabic news website.
Amr Qandil, a senior ministry official, said in a press statement that the infected cases, who are currently at Edfu Fever Hospital, all come from Al-Adwa village in Edfu, east Aswan.
He added that a medical team has been dispatched a few days ago to the area in an effort to prevent an outbreak of the disease.
