Qabila Short Film Festival winners announced
The 2nd Qabila Short Film Festival announces its winners in a closing ceremony held at the Artistic Creativity Centre at the Cairo Opera House grounds

The second edition of the Qabila Short Film Festival, which kicked off on 4 May, has ended with a closing ceremony at Cairo's Artistic Creativity Centre, where the winners in each of the festival's categories were announced on Sunday.
The festival gives young filmmakers from around the world an opportunity to showcase their talent, learn, network with other figures in the industry and broaden their experience.
This year, the festival received484 short films from 66 countries across the globe.
The closing ceremony was attended by members of this year's jury, which included actor Amr Waked, editor Mona Rabea, animation expert Hany El-Masry and director of photography Victor Credi.
This year's winners are:
Best Short Fiction: The Forgotten (Syria/Qatar)

Best Short Animation: Rabbit & Deer (Hungary)
Directed by: Peter Vacz
Best Short Documentary: Secrets & Doubts (Serbia)
Directed by: Zelimir Gvardiol
Best Egyptian Short Fiction: Speed of Light

Best Egyptian Short Animation: Farkha wa Laken (A Chicken, But...)
Directed by: Mahmoud Hemeida, Islam Mazhar, Ahmed Thabet
Best Egyptian Short Documentary: Cairo from 5 to 7
Directed by: Ahmed Abol Fadl
Best Egyptian First Work: El-Maknon
Directed by: Mohamed Amir Hassan
The Qabila Short Film Festival is organised in partnership with Tahrir Lounge and the awards are presented from Mansour Foundation, in addition to two special awards sponsored by Tahrir Lounge. The total amount of awards is LE80,000.
