Gunmen fire at police in Giza's Agouza, no injuries Unknown gunmen fire live rounds at policemen from the 15 of May bridge and flee, leaving no one harmed
Unknown assailants fired live rounds at policemen in Giza's Agouza district on Monday leaving no one harmed, reported Al-Ahram's Arabic news website. The gunmen fired the shots from atop the 15 of May Bridge and fled. Earlier this month, a policeman was killed in a bomb explosion in Lebanon Square, a few kilometres away from the area where today's shooting took place. The bomb was also thrown off the same bridge, according to eyewitness reports. Militant attacks targeting security personnel have become commonplace since the army's ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi last summer amid massive protests against his year-long rule. Nearly 500 victims, mostly policemen and soldiers, have been killed in the militant attacks, which have included frequent bombings and shootings. In recent months, the violence has spread to Cairo and the surrounding Nile Delta region. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/100011.aspx
