The Head of Foreign Relations Committee of the U.S. Senate, John Kerry, said that the American administration welcomes the results of the first phase of Egypt's current parliamentary elections. He said in press statements that Washington supports the rights of Egyptians to choose their representatives and leaders in a democratic way. He stressed that the Egyptians should choose civilian leadership through free and fair presidential elections. The U.S. former presidential candidate said that he discussed with Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri the measures that should be taken to restore security to the Egyptian street to support tourism and investments. He noted that Ganzouri focuses on restoring security and stability to the Egyptian street, expressing American readiness to support the Egyptian government in different ways during the current transitional phase to achieve the aspirations of the Egyptian people.
