Russian travel agencies threatened to suspend their charter flights to Egypt due to the increasing fees of landing in Marsa Alam Airport, which caused increasing losses for these agencies. Regional Manager of Balbaa Group Saad Ateya said the Russian travel agencies that organize tourism flights to the Red Sea expressed their protest against the increasing fees imposed on charter aircrafts by Marsa Alam Airport officials. He added the fees reached U.S. $9500 and U.S. $10,000, leading to increasing the costs of such flights. He clarified such a problem could prompt Russian tourists to boycott visiting Marsa Alam, which will strongly affect Egypt's tourism. He added if aircrafts landed in Hurghada Airport, travel agencies could transfer tourists to Marsa Alam by buses, which would reduce the costs of flights. Arabic here
