CAIRO: In an initiative praised by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), Sameh Ashour, chairman of the Bar Association, began drafting standards for the Constituent Assembly that will draft the constitution, in cooperation with presidential candidate Dr. Mohamed Selim al-Awa. Ashour told Youm7 that this project is the first achievement of the consultative council and would be handed to the SCAF to be released as a legal decree. He said that they are concentrating so the project would be expressive of all segments of society. He highlighted that the law would not violate the constitutional declaration, but will complete and explain it. He stressed that the initiative was not proposed due to fears of an Islamist-dominated parliament, but because it is essential. Ashour was the first to suggest the initiative and was joined by Awa.
