CAIRO: Egyptian Minister of Religious Affairs and numerous Imams said it is unacceptable Egypt, where Al-Azhar is situated, become a host of the Shia doctrine, adding it will always host the Sunni doctrine. The Shia doctrine cannot be spread in societies that have Sunni beliefs, said Undersecretary of the Minister of Religious Affairs Salem Abdel Jalil regarding a group of Shias' attempts to hold their rituals outside the al-Hossein Mosque. The Shia doctrine includes many beliefs opposing the Sunni ones, which is why it should not be spread in Sunni societies, added Abdel Jalil. Abdel Jalil asked Egyptian Shias to keep this in mind and to suspend their attempts at spreading their doctrine. He also affirmed Egyptian mosques will only be established to preach sermon and wisdom, while the Ministry of Religious Affairs will not tolerate any attitude leading to confusion and strife in society. Abdel Jalil urged Egyptians to go back to their Sheikhs and not allow different doctrines, such as the Shia and Bahaai doctrines, to confuse them.
