Demonstrators began arriving this morning December 2 in Tahrir Square to participate in demonstrations, called on by more than 23 parties, coalitions and political movements, notably by the National Association for Change (NAC) and the April 6 Movement. Several parties, coalitions and other movements including the Freedom and Justice party and the Al-Nour Salafi Party declined the calls for the protest today. Demonstrators are demanding the speedy trials of all those responsible for killing demonstrators, the delivery of power to an elected civilian authority and to stop military trials of civilians. Demonstrations will begin with the martyrs' families receiving condolences and a symbolic funerary march to commemorate the martyrs at 6:00 P.M. and will end with speeches given by the martyrs families. People committees filled Tahrir Square and around the entrances to secure it. There is also a significant increase in the number of street vendors after their numbers decreased dramatically recently following the clashes that took place between them and the protesters in the square on Tuesday November 29. Most of them are now standing on the sidelines in accordance with a request made by the protestors. The ban of podiums continues, there are only loudspeakers right by the American University in Cairo for the Friday prayers and the sermon.
