CAIRO: Qasr el-Nile Misdemeanors Court released six who were arrested during clashes on Mohammad Mahmoud Street in Cairo, the scene of intense clashes between demonstrators and riot police last week. The court verdict was passed after accepting petitions against keeping the detainees' in custody. Relatives of those released rallied in front of Abdeen Court after the prisoners were not released immediately after the court verdict. Public prosecution had sentenced them to four days for investigations. Another five remained detained facing charges of thuggery, inciting riots, assailing a police officer, and weapons possession.
