CAIRO: Egypt's Supreme Electoral Committee recorded violations committed by the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) during the first phase of parliamentary elections today. The violations occurred at polling stations in Helwan, Cairo. The armed forces removed the party's campaign tents because they violated the SEC's ban on electoral campaigning on election day. Meanwhile, al-Wasat Party accused FJP members of stealing ballots from polling stations in Damietta governorate to encourage voters to vote for their party. MB members filled in ballots and then gave them to voters in Montazh School and al-Azhar Institute, al-Wasat said. The headquarters of al-Wasat Party also said that FJP candidates campaigned, against SEC regulations, for female voters' support.
