Head of the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (Gasco) Magdi Tawfiq said the company is waiting for the conclusion of an attorney investigation before assessing the explosion site, calculating losses and beginning repairs on the gas line. Tawfiq also said Egypt incurred numerous losses as a result of repeated attacks on the gas line. He said Gasco, which is responsible for fixing the gas line, recently finished repairs on the gas line after the previous attack. Gas is still reaching Jordan and Israel but in decreased amounts than before. It expects to stop pumping gas to Israel and Jordan during the repairs and testing of the gas line. “Gasco agreed to insurance companies' requests to increase the insurance cost after repeated attacks,” said Tawfiq.
