CAIRO: While tear gas fills the air, the screams of injured protestors crescendos above the wail of ambulances coming to and from Mohamed Mahmoud Street, Egyptian artist Hussni works diligently, painting images of the scenes on the walls of the American University in Cairo in Tahrir Square. “I believe that everyone has his role to play in the Egyptian revolution,” Hussni said. “I try to support the revolution's youth by capturing their heroism.” The artwork he draws on the walls lining Mohamed Mahmoud Street tells the story of the Tahrir protests. “I will draw the events of the Egyptian revolution even if I must draw on all of Egypt's walls,” he added.
