CAIRO: Egypt's ruling military council has accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and the entire Egyptian cabinet, according to reports from Al-Jazeera. Egypt's cabinet of ministers accepted their collective resignation earlier tonight in response to three days of bloody clashes between demonstrators and Egyptian police forces in downtown Cairo. The military has yet to release an official statement acknowledging its acceptance of the cabinet's resignation. Some demonstrators have called for the cabinet to resign over the violence that has left at least 22 dead just one week before Egypt's first post-Mubarak vote is slated to begin.
