Nine government schools near clashes in Tahrir Square were closed Sunday, with at least one being used by security forces. The schools were closed after students and teachers did not arrive for school due to the clashes in Tahrir Square. Abdeen Secondary School, Lycee School, Mustafa Kamel Preparatory School, Vocational Secondary School, Hawati Secondary School, the German School, Doubara Experimental School, Kourbeya Preparatory School, and Abdeen Vocational School were closed. Youm7 saw security forces resting on the grounds of Abdeen Secondary School. A source at the Ministry of Education said that the students have the right to be absent during the clashes and they could attend classes and exams at other schools.
