Egyptian presidential candidate Mohamed Selim al-Awa said the Friday of Sole Demand demonstrations will turn into civil disobedience, if Egypt's ruling military council refused to respond to the demands of the citizens. Al-Awa said during his participation in the demonstrations the people will not abandon their demands, adding "The protesters will protect their demands. Only the people can decide, Egyptians are not weak and no one is above the people." During his speech, demonstrators chanted "Allah Akbar," which translates to ‘God is great,' which prompted al-Awa to chant along with them. Awa added the main demands of Egyptians are to hand over power to an elected civil authority and to refuse the constitutional document drafted by Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister Ali al-Selmy. He demanded Egypt's ruling military council to execute these demands immediately, threatening of organizing a civil disobedience if the rulers refused to meet the demands of the people.
