Head of the committee opposing Deputy Prime Minister Ali el-Selmy's constitutional principles document Waheed Abdel Majeed said political forces agreed on the documents' latest reforms. Abdel Majeed met the Egyptian Deputy PM on Tuesday and made essential changes to the document. He also said the changes will help in forming the Constituent Assembly for constitution formation, with the acceptance of the usual 50 percent, plus one member, of parliament rather than 2/3 as was in the document. They also made slight changes to other articles as well. The request for that specific change was made because the 2/3 rule would have hindered the formation of the assembly and subsequently caused a delay in forming a constitution. Majeed also said the 19 political parties and five presidential candidates, who form the committee against el-Selmy's document, conditioned to adding the word "guidance" to the document before the paragraph that said everyone who signed the document committed to its contents. He also said they will wait for the second constitutional principles document's issuance before deciding on their participation in a million man demonstration on Friday or not.
