Over 5,000 tourists were stuck at the Hurghada Airport today after a strike organized by drivers and tour leaders of the TIZ Russian travel agency halted movement at the airport. The demonstrators closed the al-Hadaba Road and announced that the strike will continue until their demands are met. Such demands include the dismissal of the current agency chief and two accountants and the reinstatement of former chief Fathy Othman. Security and military forces intervened to try to convince workers to dissolve the strike.
