Initial investigations by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism into the recent bus accident in Hurghada that killed and injured a number of Hungarian tourists revealed that the driver was not licensed with the ministry and was unauthorized to drive tourism vehicles. “The tourism unit will announce the final results of the investigation to the Minister of Tourism Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour after the prosecution finishes its investigation,” said Hani Wadee, the first undersecretary to the ministry and member of the ministry's tourism crisis unit. “Amongst the laws violated were the unregistered driver and the lack of a speedometer,” Wadee added, claiming that the company will be charged the maximum penalty for its violations.
