The Egyptian Department of Tourism on Thursday revoked the license of the company involved in a fatal tour bus accident in Hurghada last Friday evening. Eight tourists of various nationalities died and 28 others were injured after the bus overturned while en route from Ras Ghareb to the Red Sea destination Zaafarana. A ministry statement said investigations revealed the "New City" company violated regulations by failing to inform the ministry of its planned itinerary as well as the names of tourists and their nationalities. In contravention of protocol, the company also proceeded with the trip without a second bus driver.
