Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post focused on Israel's refusal of the ascent of Islamists to power in Egypt since former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's resignation in February 2011, including the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). Israel also criticized the U.S. welcoming the MB if they take power through fair and free elections. The newspaper mentioned the declarations issued by the U.S. official for Democratic Change in the Middle East, William Taylor, who said Washington D.C. would be satisfied if the MB won the next elections. He added the U.S. Administration is looking forward to provide the MB with the opportunity although U.S. officials did not hold talks with the group yet. U.S. officials said the only actions and policies adopted by the movements and parties will determine the U.S.'s impression in this regard. The U.S. declarations coincided with Israel's declarations issued by Israeli Mossad, claiming the chances of MB to take the power in Egypt are weak since Egyptians know they will lose in this case.
