Head of High Council of Judiciary, Hossam al-Gheriany, said that the crisis between judges and lawyers has ended in a press conference. "The crisis is not of judges and lawyers. It a crisis of the whole country, as there are attempts aiming at undermining the Egyptian state by spreading chaos," Gheriany said, adding that the High Judiciary Council has not studied the new judiciary law. When asked about the absence of judges during the Cabinet meeting, Mortada Mansour intervened, saying, "Judge al-Gheriany is the leader of judges and his attendance is enough." Egypt's Prime Minister, Essam Sharaf, said that achieving justice is a main priority in the current stage, adding that tension could affect the whole country. Sharaf added that meetings conducted between lawyers and judges turned a new page in relations between the two parties. The Former Head of Egypt's Bar Association, Hamdy Khalifa, said that there is no crisis between judges and lawyers. He expressed his respect for the mediating role performed by prime minister to contain the crisis. Egypt's Cabinet issued a statement about the meeting Tuesday between Gheriany and a number of lawyers. It added that the attendees appreciated the current conditions and challenges that the country witnesses. The statement said that the two parties raised the necessity to unify efforts to achieve democracy, the main objective of Egypt's revolution. The discussions covered the recent crisis between lawyers and judges, adding that they refused the atypical means used by many lawyers and judges to express their opinions. They demanded authorities take the necessary measures to secure the courts to achieve justice. Arabic here
