Egyptian media include reports on gangs kidnapping African refugees in Israel for organ harvesting and an apology from Aboud Al-Zomour for his involvement in the assassination of former late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat.
Youm7:
An investigative report revealed there are gangs of Sinai Bedouin who kidnap illegal African refugees in Israel and harvest their organs after torturing them and raping their women. These gangs then dump the bodies in the desert.
The morgue in Arish hospital currently has several bodies of African refugees missing kidneys or hearts.
One Arish resident, Sultan, confessed to this practice and his neighbors eventually discovered a mass grave of African refugees by his residence.
Investigations about this also uncovered there are doctors involved in the scheme of selling these organs to Israelis and Sudanese.
Al-Ahram:
An official source claims there are financial deficit in allocations for the maintenance of network of roads and bridges nationwide, approaching one billion EGP (U.S. $167.5 million) this year.
The source said truck and transport vehicles drivers are to blame since there is a lack of control of traffic devices, encouraged by truck owners to double their cargo. This leads to the collapse of network of roads and bridges, especially on the Cairo-Alexandria agricultural road, which started to show signs of severe damage.
The source added financial allocations that would meet the needs of maintenance this year would estimate more than 6.1 billion EGP (U.S. $1.02 million), 60 million EGP (U.S. $10.05 million) of which was supplied by the Ministry of Finance and the rest depend on the revenues of the roads and bridges authority.
Al-Akhbar:
Prominent Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leader Aboud al-Zomour issued an apology for participating in the plot to kill former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, pointing out the practice of violence by the Islamist group was a response to what he describes as ‘criminal practices' of security forces against them.
Al-Masry Al-Youm:
Libyan politician and former Secretary General of Arab Labor Organization, Ibrahim Quieder, said Libyan revolutionaries managed to destroy former Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi's regime before they managed to destroy Gaddafi himself, a privilege not yet achieved from the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. He added the Libyan Transitional Council informed the Egypt's ruling military council if the representatives of Gadhafi's former regime remain in Egypt, Egyptian workers will not be allowed in Libya to help rebuild the country.
He said the coordinator of the Egyptian-Libyan relations Ahmed Qazaf el-Dam previously pretended to break from the Libyan regime to help Gadhafi with funds from Egypt with the help of the son of the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Gamal Mubarak.
Qwaider also said Gadhafi deliberately blew up a plane from Benghazi to Tripoli on the anniversary of the Lockerbie bombing to pacify U.S. authorities. In short, all Gadhafi's decisions and actions during his tenure lead him to a fate he deserved, according to Qwaider.
Al-Shorouq:
Deputy Chief Medical Examiner of State morgue, Ashraf Al-Rifai said the errand forensic said starting Monday October 31, the morgue would be performing autopsies on the Kerdasa protests.
These are in accordance with orders from the Criminal court regarding the case of head officer of the Imbaba police station and 15 officers.
They are accused of killing five protesters during the protests of Friday of Anger on January 28 amid the Egyptian January 25 Revolution.
Al-Rifai added the bodies are being dissected for the first time because their families buried them, but they were recently exhumed.
Al-Gomhorreya:
Residents of the governorate of Minya are now self imposing a curfew out of fear due to the increase of numbers of kidnappings, especially the prominent case of a former police major general who was only let go when his family paid a ransom of 200,000 EGP (U.S. $33,500).
The public prosecutor and police are still currently investigating this case and various other similar cases.
