Jordan will not depend on Egyptian gas as a main source of electricity, particularly after service was interrupted for 82 days, sources added. GASCO Company is about to finish repairs to the damaged pipeline and resume service to Jordan, sources inside the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum reported. The two countries are scheduled to sign an agreement to amend gas prices in the next week, according to statements from the Egyptian ministry. Egyptian gas will cover 80 percent of the electrical needs in Jordan, other sources said. Jordan has lost roughly U.S. $3.5 million since the suspension of Egyptian gas.
