RIYADH: Seven foreign women converted to Islam on Sunday October 23 in the Cooperative Office for Call and Guidance and educating communities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The seven women included a 40-year-old U.S. nurse. Director of the office Sheikh Noah el-Korayen said the American nurse, Carol, works at one of the hospitals in Riyadh and heard about Islam from her colleagues at work. Carol was an atheist and was influenced by Islam and she wanted to learn more. Carol met with one of the preachers in the office, who explained to her the teachings of Islam. Afterwards, she converted to Islam and changed her name from Carol to Nisreen. There were six foreign female workers who converted to Islam a week after Carol's conversion. The director of the women's section said three of the six female workers were from the Philippines, two were Sir Lankan and one was Ethiopian. The director pointed out the women workers agreed to come into office and showed their willingness to hear and learn about Islam. The preacher explained to them teachings of Islam and afterwards they carried out the Muslim declaration of belief that is the first step of conversion to Islam. It was mentioned last week, six other workers converted to Islam in one day, five of them from the Philippines and the sixth from Kenya.
