A misdemeanor court headed by Judge Sherif Kamel passed a three-year sentence against a Facebook user, Ayman Youssef, since he was accused of defiling Islam, prophet Mohamed and affecting the national union. The court said it was proven the defendant intentionally insulted Islam and mocked it through his Facebook account. The court pointed out the defendant confessed during the prosecution investigation against him. The court assured monotheistic religion has one position before the criminal law and they live under one national union. It also pointed out the freedom of opinion grants anti-religions' opinions but without insulting the religions or mocking it.
