CAIRO: Egyptians should be united during the country's transitional stage, particularly because Egypt is one of the most pivotal countries in the world, according to Egypt's Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa. The Grand Mufti is responsible for interpreting Islamic law for the Egyptian government. During a meeting with Finnish Ambassador to Egypt Roberto Tanzi, Gomaa said, "We should face the current challenges through work, hope and rule of law.” The Islamic leader said that Egypt has a unique experience through which it established a modern civil state with an Islamic reference. He called on the Western world to study the Egyptian model to understand the cultural, religious and civil structure of the Egyptian people. Finland's Ambassador said that the whole world follows developments on the Egyptian scene, expressing his confidence that Egypt will pass the transitional stage as a strong country as usual. The European diplomat stressed that there are strong ties that gather between both the Egyptian and Finnish peoples. Two sides discussed how to support religious cooperation of Egypt's Dar al-Iftaa and the Muslim community in Finland and to implement Al-Azhar's strategy to contact all Muslims of the world.
