CAIRO: Tens of lawyers organized a protest outside the primary court of south Giza today. They were protesting a new judicial law that was submitted by Egypt's ruling military council that would allow judges to imprison lawyers suspected of crimes. A number of lawyers closed the main gate in front of judges and candidates, preventing them from entering for more than 20 minutes. Lawyers announced in a statement about their intention to strike in all Giza courts from this Saturday until the new judicial power law.
