KAFR EL- SHEIKH, Egypt: Lawyers in the governorate of Kafr el-Sheikh organized a strike and closed all courts houses. They also prevented employers from entering the courts. Outside Kafr el-Sheikh, lawyers only organized their strike in rooms and did not close the court. Most judges left the courts and lawyers announced they oppose the new Judicial Authority Law. They also said they will continue their strike until the law is canceled. This new law gives judges the right to detain lawyers. Mohamed Al-Said Al-Agroumy said they closed the courts because they oppose judges monopolizing judicial authority.
