Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf headed to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces Thursday morning, after the leader of the ruling council summoned him for a meeting. Sharaf and Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi will meet before the Cabinet's meeting of the High Committee of the Nile Water. Sources said that Sharaf complained of pressure exerted by Egyptian media since clashes erupted between the armed forces and demonstrators on Sunday. Military police violently broke up a protest of Muslims and Christians protesting the government's inaction on the arson attack on a church in Aswan. The sources have not determined if the visit is for consultations about the performance of the government, or to dismiss the government.
